The Der Red Max rocket model is a classic, fun addition to any rocket enthusiast's collection. With a large stable design, this rocket performs great and reaches heights of over 500 feet with standard engines. Featuring laser cut wood fins for improved performance and a waterslide decal set, including the iconic skull and crossbones, this rocket is a must-have.
You'll need some basic tools and finishing supplies to build it, but the result is a 16-inch tall rocket that looks as good as it flies. To launch Max, you'll need Estes model rocket engines, starters, and recovery wadding, as well as the Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Launch Controller. Don't forget to grab some AA batteries for the launch controller, and get ready to blast off!
SKILL LEVEL: The Der Red Max is an Intermediate level rocket that will help a budding rocketeer develop some basic model building and finishing skills.
RECOMMENDED ENGINES: B4-2, B4-4, B6-2, B6-4, C6-5PROJECTED ALTITUDE: 600 ft. (183 m) on a C6-5.
