About the 1955 Chevrolet
The big year for Chevrolet was 1955 when their powerful new V-8 engine was introduced to the public in an all-new line of cars. The most popular model in the '55 line was the sporty Bel Air Hardtop with a sleek wrap-around windshield and luxurious interiors. The many options available gave the purchaser of a '55 Chevy a wide choice of engines, transmissions, and interior and exterior colors. In recent years '55 Chevys have become well-known on drag strips across the country, running in all the ever-popular 'Gasser' classes. Besides being a stormer on the strips, the '55 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop continues to appear in many custom car shows as a mild or wild show car. The popularity and versatility of the '55 Chevy will make this model an excellent addition to your collection of popular custom and competition cars.
